Biography of a PA soldier, Samuel ClarkSamuel S., son of Griffith T. and Sophia (Sheffler) Clark, was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, January 30, 1866. He was educated in the public schools, and after completing his years of study served an apprenticeship of five years with A. J. Case and learned the trade of harnessmaker. He then spent five years with the Connellsville Electric Company, becoming an electrical engineer. For three years he worked at steam fitting with the Connellsville Brewing Company, which brings him to the time of the Spanish-American war.
